Mind Over Mother’s Recipe

We have heard of robocop, robotic arms for operating by replacing the doctor’s hands, and now the development of supercomputers or artificial intelligence, which is much faster than human intelligence. Computers have become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year the supercomputer beat the best go-player in the world; and only a decade before this was expected, IBM Watson has designed a law-based software, which gives you better and comprehensive advise evaluating all the data in the world available for that particular case in seconds. The results are 90 per cent accurate compared to humans, which range up to 70 per cent accuracy. Watson IBM already helps in diagnosing cancer four times more accurately than human nurses. Facebook has designed its software that is capable of recognising faces better than humans and it is said that by 2030 computers will become more intelligent than humans.

Having said that, I wonder if any computer system can make food tastier than most mothers. I doubt, as no super-intelligent artificial system can have motherly emotions and love. We may see robo-cooks in the near future, who may be programmed to cook the best tasting dish with exact recipes, but it can never cook with love which is a prime ingredient in mother’s cooking . This week, I am dedicating a few recipes to my mother that I have grown up eating.
