Having recently launched five ready-to-eat (RTE) food variants, Moti Mahal Delux Tandoori Trail restaurants plans to add more to this range, including non-vegetarian items in the coming quarters.

In an exclusive interaction with ImagesFood on the official launch of Moti Mahal’s RTE range, Monish Gujral, CMD of Moti Mahal Delux Tandoori Trail said, “After launching these five variants, we want to create excitement about our RTE brand and observe the market reaction on the same. Following the consumers’ response to our range, we will add 16-20 more variants but in a phased manner. We plan to add two-three variants every quarter.”

Targetting the larger segment of consumers, Moti Mahal has priced its RTE range between Rs 69 to 99 for a pack of 300gm.

On the factors that propelled the company’s decision to enter the Indian market at this time, Gujral said, “So far, we have been focussing on the expansion of our various food-service formats – Moti Mahal Tandoori Trail, Kebab Trail, DNY Bread Bar Cafe, counters at various food courts and outlets in commercial areas. We wanted to have the complete range of our food-service outlets and then get into the RTE market in the country.”

“Also, going by the psychographic changes, we feel that the Indian market is ready for such quick-fix meals now,” he added.

Moti Mahal’s RTE range will initially be available at Moti Mahal restaurants as well as on an online portal – motimahalreadytoeat.com, however the company palns to make the range available soon through modern grocery stores and even leading traditional grocery outlets.

First chef from India to be invited to Le cordon Bleu to demonstrate in Paris. Monish is credited with the trailblazing turn-around of Moti Mahal, from being a small but iconic presence in Delhi, to becoming a multi-national corporation that is well on its way to defining how the world eats Indian food. A traditionalist, Monish has remained true to the signature dishes that made Moti Mahal a legend, while reinventing the dining experience into one that is exciting and avant garde to suit modern sensibilities.
